The concept of SuperRun started in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan in 1990 by three car enthusists. One each from Saskatoon, Regina
and Winnipeg.
They had a concept of a low buck, fun-filled run allowing
fellow car buffs to get to know each other while promoting their sport. The
idea appealed to their friends and a
volunteer base was started.
To keep things above board, it was
decided SuperRun would be designated as charity event.
With the help of volunteers, SuperRun
1990 attracted 300 vehicles from through-out Western
Canada. As time went on, it was 5 years before the next
event took place. SuperRun 1995 was held in Regina and
then SuperRun 1996 was hosted in Winnipeg.
Thus sparked the idea of having SuperRun move from Province
to Province through-out Western Canada.
SuperRun events are now hosted every alternating third
(3rd) year between Manitoba, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. SuperRun is
becoming the largest non-profit Outdoor Car Show (Rod Run) in
Western Canada.
SuperRun is a outdoor car show, hosted by car clubs (and it's volunteers) with
net proceeds being donated to
charity.
"Put on by car guys for car guys."
